Working for over 45 years Antoine Solounias is an accomplished byzantine iconographer, writing in the 16th century Cretan style. Antoine was born and raised into the art of iconography. He inherited the interest and learned from his father and years of detication. By the age of 13 he had developed a relationship with the divine imagery of iconography. Although taught in a specific style of writing icons he has maintained his own uniqueness as all artists do. Bringing something of your own is a small part of iconography but it does exist. Its the human connection with the writings that he has nurtured throughout the years and which has endured throughout the years. He has done work for Greek and Russian orthodox churches in New York, all over the country and Canada. Antoine also does restoration of fine art, antique and ancient, throughout the world. He resides on Long Island New York.
